The psychological thriller of 2010!

There is a reason why Natalie Portman just walked away with Best Actress at the Golden Globes - an absolutely flawless performance!

Black Swan is currently screening nationally

Director, Darren Aronofsky, who graced us with such films as; 'The Fountain', 'Requiem for a Dream', and most recently 'The Wrestler',  is truly a master artist & story teller, with his most recent film 'Black Swan' no exception to the statement! Incredibly capturing the raw and gritty details of characterisation, within the most minuscule of budgets (13million) - overlooked currently in modern cinema and replaced by high octane 3D  explosive effects.
'Black Swan' is an example of truly talented artists each passionate beyond belief for their craft (to give a more insightful look at Aronofsky's every-day character & persona; he made his debut film for USA$60,000, by collecting $100 dollar donations..... achieve that in 2011!).

There is literally nothing I can fault this film on, it entertained, shocked, and intrigued me - everything a very good thriller should do, all the while revolving around outstanding performances from Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman especially. The huge score by Clint Mansell is perfectly in-tune with the tone of the film, only adding to the tension, never seeming to take-over, or control the film. Interestingly, Aronofsky, wanted to make a film about a wrestler who falls in love with a ballerina........ alternatively, his wrestler Mickey picked up a Golden Globe in 2009, and now Portman has as well in 2011... lets hope she can hold down the Oscar as well!

A Brilliant film; check out the trailer below, then hop, skip, and jump off to the cinemas this afternoon!
