Roger Michell has nailed it - If you were ever to describe the current Harrison Ford as a cereal he would undeniably be bran - consistent, fibrous, and like eating cardboard. Naturally, we can also use these terms to define his career (Indiana Jones was merely sugar coated bran). Though, from the director who gave us the British gem, 'Notting Hill', 'Morning Glory' will similarly raise that cheek to cheek, rather 'fluffy', smile - superbly cast, the now rusty Ford is the washed up, drunk, and serious guru journalist (who hasn't cracked a smile in years).

Television Producer, Becky Fuller, is one of those 'morning people' - she loves 1:30am starts, a sunrise over a deserted sleepy street, and tacky, distasteful, breakfast broadcasting. Offered her dream job, to Exec-Produce America's national breakfast failure, Day Breakers, she very quickly realises the anchors (Ford/Keaton), are quite the weighty burden. It's sink or swim as she's thrown into the deep end of broadcasting disputes, ratings, and reputations.
Of course we've seen similar plot lines to this before (I.e. 'The Ugly Truth'), but somehow Rachel McAdams never ceases to charm and delight. The on-screen chemistry between Keaton & Ford is golden, with well-written gems that will inevitably leave you laughing. Michell has perfectly detailed everything kitsch, tacky, and infomercial about breakfast television down to the smallest broadcast molecule - and it's truly hard not to enjoy it.

Nothing too serious, the film achieves everything it sets out to do; entertain, be light hearted, and get a few laughs. I've really got nothing bad to say about this one. It's two spoons on sugar in a super hot cup of tea - whilst the first flakes of winter just fell outside.
